# Final outside read of the v2.3 release: GPT-6 Astra (gpt-6-astra), 30 September 2026

**Type:** outside-lineage read (one Codex call, xhigh), after the editor's fixes to the re-read · **Verbatim below.**

Reviewed `35d6360`, including the fixes since `3f9ca17` and the release diff against `main`.

1. **Disposition of my HOLD items**

- **S4 — resolved.** The existential claim now matches its defeat condition across the paper, ledger, graph and JSON.
- **M3 — partly resolved.** The unsupported clustering falsifier is removed and withdrawal is distinguished from falsification. One contradictory sentence and the negative-result criterion remain below.
- **Remaining summaries — resolved.** M3’s gloss is conditional; the one-page summary first asks whether the pattern survives controlled study.
- **Study 5 download — resolved.** Its design and status now match the research page.
- **Review/disposition navigation — partly resolved.** Index, both reads, reviewed-commit identifiers and dispositions exist. Published review links and the now-outdated third-read disclosure need correction.
- **Objection 17 cross-references — partly resolved.** Added links work, but Part VI’s implicated conjecture still lacks its backlink.
- **`llms.txt` — resolved.** Objection 17 is enumerated.

Previously resolved S3/P2 changes, provenance corrections, release metadata and exclusion of unrelated documents remain intact. Objection 17’s disclosure does **not** resolve temporal circularity.

2. **Remaining defects and required amendments**

- **Moderate — M3/H1 still mishandle defeat.** [M3](../../../argument.html) retains “a third primitive orientation … would break both readings,” immediately before explaining that failure of the pattern cannot falsify the conditional. Replace this with withdrawal of M3’s **application** when an exhaustive two-orientation pattern is defeated; mirror in graph/JSON. The [H1 weakening table](../../../research.html) and its Markdown copy still treat “do not separate” as sufficient. State that the operational defeat criterion remains unspecified pending a preregistered predicted contrast, validated coding and sufficient precision; an inconclusive null does not defeat H1.

- **Minor — stale machine-readable release description.** [state.json’s `whatV23Is`](../../../state.json) still says S4 concerns “reports that carry” information and the old condition moved to M3 “with a measurement bridge.” Synchronise it with the final changelog.

- **Minor — broken published-review links.** All seven index links and every added objection-17 source/backlink resolve against local deployment files and anchors. However, `40_reread_astra.md` adds **six broken `/Users/cobuskok/...:line` links**; the first published read contains five more. Supply working public targets in clearly identified publication copies, preserving the verbatim archival originals.

- **Minor — missing backlink.** Add the objection-17 link to [Part VI’s complementary-appearances paragraph](../../../paper.html), with corresponding download cross-references.

- **Minor — review record now outdated.** Publish this read with reviewed commit `35d6360`, index it, and append its disposition. Correct or supersede “A third outside read was not run” and “none … has been read from outside.” Record author adoption when it occurs.

These are bounded editorial amendments; none requires another outside read.

3. **Verification**

`npm test`: **101 passed; two rebuild tests failed because the read-only environment cannot create temporary directories.** Syntax checks passed. Rebuilt PDF text contains the repairs; layout was not re-rendered: (file: ../../../downloads/One_Page_Summary.pdf) (file: ../../../downloads/Space_Immanence_Working_Paper.pdf) (file: ../../../downloads/Academic_Edition.pdf)
