# Outside read (GPT-6 Astra via Codex, xhigh): Caught in Review as a lab page, 6 October 2026

Prompt: `CIR_READ_PROMPT.md`. Verbatim final message; local file links shortened to repository paths. All six findings applied (see `../ledger/VERIFICATION.md`, last section).

**ADOPT AMENDED**

1. **Major — counts overclaim.** “It shows how often its research was wrong before review” and “Most held pieces were corrected and read again” exceed this ledger. Replace the second “How this was made” paragraph and the final “against” bullet with:
   > These 47 review records include repeat reads of revised pieces: 24 HOLD, 16 conditional adoption or pass verdicts, 1 GO, 2 NO-GO, and 4 without a verdict word. They do not establish how many distinct pieces were wrong, whether amendments were implemented, or whether the metaphysics is true.

Change the filter/count label “Adopted with amendments” to **“Conditional adoption / pass”**.

2. **Major — completeness and lineage.** Filename selection does not establish “every such read” or universal review before publication. Replace the opening paragraph:
   > This ledger contains 47 review files selected by filename from the September–October 2026 project record. Forty name GPT-6 Astra, one names Claude Opus 5, and six do not state the reviewer. These are review records, not 47 independent reviewers or companies; completeness has not been established.

In the description metadata, replace “Every adversarial read” with **“47 selected adversarial reads”**.

3. **Minor — eight-card spot-check.** Checked corrected cards **2, 9, 11, 14** and cards passed clean **0, 8, 17, 39**, using zero-based batch numbers. The substantive corrections sampled hold; these repairs remain:

**Card 17:** replace `'no result moved a grade'` with **`'No test has yet moved a claim'`**, the actual target quotation in [the review(`research/lab/08_dissent_review_astra_round3.md:26`).

**Card 0:** “one judgement differs” obscures that PI-7 differs across the controls. Replace its first error clause with:
   > Matched-capacity wording omitted PI-7 verdict differences across the control posits; the review classifies this as a nit.

[Source §11(`research/meta-problem/60_critique_circularity.md:254`) supports this narrower wording.

4. **Minor — verdict labels and dates.** Card 2’s “Prose verdict” is an editorial label, not the reviewer’s words. Replace the meta-block sentence “the verdicts are the reviews’ own words” with:
   > Verdict words are quoted where supplied; “Prose verdict” and “none stated” are editorial labels.

   Source dates also require card **0 → `2026-09-09`** and card **8 → `2026-09-19`**.

5. **Minor — verification accounting.** The page’s **20 fields / 18 cards**, **22 flags / 21 upheld**, and stated costs check out against the records. But [VERIFICATION.md(`research/lab/21_playground/ledger/VERIFICATION.md:45`) wrongly says 14 error fields. Replace its breakdown:
   > 13 “what the maker got wrong” fields, 5 catches and 2 verdicts. Two upheld flags concerned the same field on card 15.

6. **Minor — defeat condition.** Another lineage is unnecessary for a counterexample to count. Replace the first “against” bullet:
   > Any reader finding a misquotation, unsupported attribution, misstated verdict or stronger-than-source summary would show that the check missed an error. The extractors, checkers and refuters were all Claude Sonnet 5.5.

## What would count against this

- The reader spot-checked eight of 47 cards; the other 39 rest on the Sonnet check and the editor's re-check of its flags.
