# Outside-lineage review of the case against: GPT-6 Astra, second read **Date:** 18 September 2026. **Reviewer:** GPT-6 Astra (OpenAI), through the Codex command-line tool, read-only, direct, no human relay. **Packet:** the revised piece, the first-read verdict, the lab rules, the working contract and the full site source set; the reviewer also consulted the three cited physics works outside the packet and confirms their authors, years and titles. **Usage reported by Codex:** 1,959,371 input tokens (1,823,360 cached), 12,134 output tokens, at reasoning effort xhigh. **Verdict: ADOPT AMENDED** (seven first-read findings resolved, three partly; seven exact replacements, all applied the same day, two reworded to keep the site's ratchet on the contrast form: "not a demand for" became "rather than a demand for", and "certainty attaches to experiencing, not automatically to" became "certainty attaches to experiencing and does not automatically extend to"). --- VERDICT: ADOPT AMENDED FIRST-READ FINDINGS: 1. **Partly resolved.** Part I’s deducibility argument and the confidence policy are now engaged. NEW FINDINGS: 1. **Major · charge 1: removing a premise is treated as establishing its opponent.** **Quoted line:** “Switch the speculative tier off and nothing left says experience is other than a content the base supplies; the zombie subtraction is coherent again.” **What is wrong:** Removing the proposed identity removes one argument against subtraction; it does not establish subtraction’s coherence. Part I expressly offers a conditional and says it has not refuted the canonical arguments. The stronger criticism concerns whether that conditional earns the diagnosis, and whether using P2 to establish S1 would introduce circular support: P2 already depends on S1. **Exact replacement for the paragraph beginning “Take the step at its word”:** > Take the step at its word and the graph faces a dependency question. More significantly, the academic passage explicitly limits S2’s convergence claim. S1’s 0.8 prices the cognitive reading, so those physics concessions do not automatically require changing that number. The defensible criticism is the gap between that narrow commitment and the broader diagnosis. The three references have correct authors, years and titles. What remains to be shown is which explanatory consequence these additions supply that the static fold or a container account cannot supply. Its strongest evidence survives: the unestablished contemplative classification contrasted with stronger canonical language; the temporal criterion alongside the proposed explanation of duration; the distinction between count and persistence obligations; the withdrawn attribution still operating on Positions; the obsolete method paragraph; and the unreconciled reception total. The numerical null and the restricted discrimination result are accurately reported. The three physics works are relevant supporting context, but the central case does not depend on them: its strongest charges arise from the site’s own statements and discrepancies. With the replacements above, the case meets its stated standard. As written, several conclusions still exceed their premises. WHAT WOULD CHANGE THIS VERDICT: Apply the exact amendments and verify their implementation; that would change this to ADOPT without another research round. Retaining the asserted zombie coherence, truth–certainty contradiction, absent primitiveness criterion, or vocabulary-only conclusion would leave substantive grounds to withhold adoption.
